Linux Newbie - confidence building and having trouble using cream vim editor

Dear people of Linux,

I am new to the world of Linux and looking for a good online tutorial.

I am also learning VIM and have decided to download cream however when I try to open the program I receive this error:

Error: Object "Window" does not have windowed ancestor

I look forward to your responses.

Kind Regards
Alex
