Hi....
I have a network running (windowXP)
after i installl linux7.2 (server).. first time i log in.. i was able to use the net, but however when i reset the server... i can't access to net no more.
at the moment i jsut need to access to the internet on my linux box... any advice???

what type of output do you get with the command ifconfig eth0 ?
Where eth0 is your ethernet card and ifconfig will display its configurations.. like IP, Netmask.. etc.
Most likely you setup the network but when you rebooted it doesn't remember the settings. Need to most likely reconfigure to set these settings at boot time.

hi,,,
when i try to run ifconfig eth0 up
it just return to the prompt... nothing happend...
shouldn't it display some info???

how would i reconfigure these network setting????
i've been search aroung the menu... and couldn't find where to configure them.....
wouldn't it be in network configuration???
if yes.... could you please show me how or show me any link to those how-to ... since the help menu in Redhat doesn't help much , especially to newbies like me....
