Linux Network Printers
 
Hey everyone. How do i install a network printer using Linux? What is lpd and how do i use it?

I'm a noob to linux, and I don't know what lpd is.
I personally use Samba to share files and a printer with 2 other(WindowsXP,Vista) PCs.

When installing a printer using the CUPS web interface (loclahost:631), all accessible network printers appear on a list. Simply click one, select the driver, and there you are. Our network printers all tend to be HP (who happen also to be the best in terms of Linus support)
