linux network bridge?
 

okay, i am tired of doing proxy shit with every program. i use xp with one of my clients as a file/print server, plus i share the internet connection. i dont have to do any proxy shit, and i was wondering if there was a linux equivlent of the network bridge. should i just make a dns server? but that would still be a type of proxy i guess, and i reall really dont want to have to tell some of my clients how to fix every program. any ideas? that would help, thanks

im not sure you want the linux box behaves like router that filters packet or acts like bridge that filters frame? whatever, you can do that wif the linux box by compiling the kernel and add it modules that support the functions.
