You probably need to install some Arabic fonts. Google may help with this

Try getting the latest version of gaim from CVS. Fonts are currently being shifted to a new system, that may be the reason.

Lightbulb amsn comes the closest

You guys should look at amsn (amsn.sourceforge.net) which comes closest to cloning the real thing. There are rpm's for redhat as well (8.0). Better than gaim at least....(ok go ahead flame me )

Ever tried Red-Carpet? it's a program installer and most of the time it finds the dependences for you and installs them ... This program takes all the work out of it.... Very Nice!

I have a little question about Gaim.
I am behind a firewall and can only use some port. Can Gaim works with the port 80?
And if yes, how can I configure it...

Thank you helping the newbies

Well with amsn once you do the tar -xzvf <filename>.tar.gz you can go into the directory "msn" and type ./amsn to run the program. That should work, if it doesn't try typing "wish amsn" if that doesn't work then you have to install the tcl/tk interpreter.
