Linux mint registration code

Hi all, first post, hope you can help. Installed Linux Mint today and tried to use Tutorials. I need Registration code to continue. Can someone tell me how to obtain this code, I have visited the Chat room but cannot find any means off using it. I had visions of Linux being an easy to use system but so far I found it ,in practice, far from it. hope you can get me started, thanks Roy
