Oh. I thought it's gonna be like inserting the CD to another laptop then the OpenSUSE installation will just basically get everything from there.
So as of now I have a 2mbps connection. How long will it take for everything to be installed?

Vector linux

Hey there, i'm new to this but i also have a sony vaio old laptop with 512mb of ram and someone suggested i try vector linux, well that's what i'm using now after trying kubuntu and ubuntu and a few others, they ate all of the ram. Vector runs really fast and i'm also running compiz on it. It also picked up my rooted htc legend android, so yeah if i was you i'd go with vector
