Linux Mint "Mate" updates

When I run update manager in linux Mint Mate why does it give me updates for other desktops in Linux Mint? Is it necessary to download these in Mate? Some are listed as 1 priority. Thanks for any answers to this question.

no, according to your attached screenshot, it does not. It just suggests updates of the artworks associated to earlier versions of Linux Mint - independent of the desktop environment you're actually using.

No. As I said, it's just desktop wallpapers and stuff like that related to earlier versions that still receive updates. It doesn't hurt to download these updates, but it's not necessary at all. You should, however, download the update of the Flash plugin.

Right, and 1 means lowest priority. That's why the Flash plugin and the half-hidden Firefox have a 2. They're considered more important.
