Hi,

I'm fairly new to Linux. I've been doing fairly well getting to grips with the CLI, but I'm really struggling with the GUI in Linux Mint Debian MATE/Cinnamon.

The issue I'm having at the moment, is that when I move quick launch icons (right click and select move, then drag them), they cross over a separator (3 very small horizontal lines arranged vertically), and I can't get them to cross back over so that they're next to the Menu again. Unfortunately I've just moved the Menu itself as well and now I can't get that to go back. The problem this causes is that any windows I open automatically go to the left side of the panel, so that my quick launch icons (and now the Menu) cause them to "disappear" unless I move everything to the right.

Any ideas?

I finally figured it out - I had to right click the separator, unlock it, then move it to the right a little, then move everything to the left of it, and lock it again.
