Linux mint 3d effects

How to enable 3d effects in Linux mint 8?

Right click on the desktop, select Change Desktop Background, then select the Visual Effects tab. Choose extra to enable extra effects.

Start the CompizConfig Settings Manager (ccsm) you'll find in the main menu under Preference.

Under General Options--> Desktop Size, make sure that you set the Horizontal Virtual Size to 4.

Under Desktop select Desktop Cube & Rotate Cube. That's it.

If you don't have at least 4 virtual desktops showing in your panel you won't get the cube effect. If this is the case:

Right click the panel, then select Add To Panel now select the last item in the list which is the Workspace Switcher.

Instead of right clicking go via the main menu and find Control Centre--> Appearance. Now follow the steps above. As long as you don't get an error message about not being able enable the extra effects, you should be good to go, nothing else for you to install.
