Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon - rebooting and freezing problems

Hi, I've just installed Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon on my desktop which has an AMD cpu and Nvidia GeForce chipset. After a bit of struggling it is now on there and I have set the driver to nvidia 304. It works fine on safe mode. However, once I connect the internet cable it starts rebooting then after a couple of times I get a black screen. If I go back into normal mode with internet disconnected it freezes up within seconds. Going back again to safe mode with internet cable disconnected it is fine again. I get a message during booting into safe to say 'fallback graphics devices - fail'.The graphics are integrated. The computer is new. I've just built it and Linux is the only OS. I've read loads of blogs and tried loads of fixes but can't get any joy.I think I just need a pointer from an expert as to roughly what's wrong and where i can find answers. Thanks

The graphics are integrated but you have an Nvidia Geforce chipset???

So do you have a separate video card or are you using the integrated graphics on your CPU?

In "safe mode", which by the way is windows terminol.. never mind, please post the output of lspci like this:

Code:
erik@mycomputer:~$ lspci

Thanks both, problem now solved. Binned 17 and installed 18 cinnamon instead. Right from the start it looked and felt more solid. Working a treat and on the same system I had been struggling to get 17 to go on! That's progress for you. Thanks for your interest and quick replies.
