Linux mint 10 sound configuration


Heloo freinds, i'm new here. i used windows 7. i had a problem- my output port was not working. i had driver of another sound card. i installed it and configured the input port as an output port. it working fine in windows 7. now in linux mint 10 i do not get any options. what are the configuration needed?? how can i configure this??

I think we need a little more information about your hardware. The command
lspci | grep audio
will gave the names of the devices.
aplay -l
will tell you how they are identified.
cat /proc/asound/modules
will tell you what drivers are installed.
