Smile Linux Loopback Adaper

My question is this. How does one configure a Linux loopback adapter?

You don't, really. If you run ifconfig lo you'll see that the loopback adapter, lo, is already configured with the loopback IPv4 address 127.0.0.1 and possibly the IPv6 address ::1 if your kernel supports IPv6.

Why do you need to configure the loopback adapter?

I think you need a step-by-step guide like this.

That guide is about loopback devices, not loopback adapters.
