Question Linux lite on usb stick does not save sattings or anything.

Hello All,

I jumped from windows to try Linux, its quite hard and dont know where to start.

I installed linux lite on 1GB usb stick using install program.
free space on stick is about 300MB but my problem is that wheter changes I make on system, it will dissappear or not even make changes.
For example like Finnish keyboard etc, hence spelling mistakes here.

can you find me solution?
Should I use bigger USB memory stick and it would work then? What can I do.

thank you

Harri

I don't think Linux Lite is designed to save your settings, as a few distros are. The live disk/usb is just to let you try it out and make sure it works on your computer. If you're interested, you'll just have to be brave and install it alongside Windows!

Puppy Linux is designed to run without being installed, but any experience you get using Puppy may not help when using another distro: it's rather unusual.

Nothing about running Linux Lite as a persistent usb on this page

https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/install.html

So

I figure my post will just be too hard for you to handle.

I second the Puppy Linux Idea. I would download Carolina 1.2 (the pae version if your computer is 64bit)

Install using with what I guess you ever used

When asked to save at shutdown. Pick pendrive or hard drive. Otherwise. Use the install instructions I provided in the 1st link from Linux Lite.

Good Luck and Happy Trails, Rok
