I'm wondering what the password is since the laptop has no password.. Is there a default password or this linux lite linpus does not support applications?

You need the ROOT password for administrative privileges. The user account logs on without any password. If you do not have it, then you might need to reinstall Linux unless someone can help you here to figure out what to do. Check your user manual to see if they give you a root password.
