Linux is extremely slow when writing a pendrive

I don't know if this is normal in Linux, but it seems to me that it is writing too slowly to my MP3 device through USB port. This image tells it well. Linux estimates that it'll take 1 hour to write 80 megabytes.

Isn't that too much? Should I need to specify any parameters to the kernel module responsible of USB devices?

Check that the device isn't being mounted with the 'sync' option. For some reason, that kills performance.

One thing I can say for sure,

You got good taste in music.
Might this be an older computer with USB1 instead of USB2.

That whas the problem. I removed the sync option and now it goes as fast as under Windows.

Thanks
