linux installed in vmware problems


you might can help, i have installed vmware Wstation 6 on my vista OS, after i install linux within VMware i cannot get to connect to the internet, and i really need to start digging into linux. I appreciate your help thanks.

you need to define what form of networking you are using within vmware, and what, for example, ifconfig says about your network configuraiton under linux. a similar ipconfig would be handy for the windows host side too. Also getting on the internet is a LONG way down the road here. what can and can't you do at a simpler level? ping your default gateway? ping your host?
