Well I discovered that it was a server edition so I just formatted again and chose the desktop version. Thanks for providing the code but as I said, I don't know how to use that stuf so would need a play-by-play. ANyway, it's installed and works fine but I'm having issues with drivers for the monitor and sound card. This is an old computer so I might also try to find a lighter version as it seems kinda slow - as it never was with XP Pro. Thanks to everyone for the help.
