Question linux installation


when i was try to install linux 8.0 it checks hardware , it shows hda : probing of IRQ 14 failed and next it shows some message as hda : 48906..sectors of 256784mb some thing and it freezes nothing then it was doing If I have to change any bois settings please help me..... not only in my computer others also happaned same while installing

First, what is "Linux 8"? We need the name of the distro (version)---eg RedHat, SUSE, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.

Also, please try to give us the EXACT error message and where in the process it occurs.

Note that if you have the same error on different computers, it could mean that you have a bad CD.

linux installation

It was redhat linux 8.0 it shows the message ide2: probed irq 14 failed ,using default and then one mssage hda : showing some 48924566sectors(254678mb) and freezes more than that nothing happens if i had ti change any boise settings or its eault of the cd iam using because it same on many other computers we have so please help me..

Redhat Linux 8.0 is very, very, old (2002) and is no longer a supported distribution.
If you wish to stick with that flavor of Linux you should really move to Fedora 11
