What distrobution of linux are you using?

I have tried a couple, and I'm still VERY VERY new to this, but I found Fedora 3 to be VERY easy, if you are installing on a fresh machine. That is what I did...

Good luck!

So you are trying to install Mandrake 9.2, correct ?
What are your PC hardware specs (CPU, MotherBoard, RAM, HDD, etc) ?

Oy, well, Sorry to say, but I don't know anything about that error...

BUT, I did a search on these forums for Kernal Panic Attempted to kill init, and I found a bunch of threads on this...

Check this one out...

Good luck

Is it an official cd, or did you download it from the web-site and burned it yourself?

If you burned it yourself you should try and check if it works on other PC's.
If it doesn't work on the rest than you haven't burned your cd right so you should make another one.

Kernel panic reports are very rare so if it does it all the time than something is wrong with the cd or the distribution.
