Linux install from FAT16 partition
I am still relatively new to the Linux community but would like to abandon the tyrannical Windows operating system. I have a Gateway Solo 5100 notebook without a CD-ROM drive and have copied the SuSE 9.1 single-cd install files to my hard drive in a 1-GB FAT partition under DOS. I have 4 GB free now of unpartitioned space and have nowhere to begin. I also have the Personal version of 7.1 on three CDs, but would rather use 9.1 because it looks more visually stunning.
