linux for visual effects
 
I'm visual effects artist and want to know which Linux distro is good for my 3d and compositing software .I'm oftenly using 3dsmax ,nuke,after effects, Photoshop.

Plenty of alternatives exist, just search them:

3dsmax, nuke -> Blender
Photoshop -> GIMP

Note that nuke has a Linux version.

Photoshop -> Krita (you're using it for painting, right?)
Nuke -> Nuke. ;)
3dsmax -> Blender, Maya, Houdini, etc
AE -> nothing... everything AE does the above programs can do better

Krita and Blender had booths (next to each other) at Siggraph a couple of weeks ago.

EDIT: Distro? As an industry insider, I can tell you that CentOS is widely used.
