Linux for older Computers..
Is there a version which is much more user friendly for older PCs? One which will not have graphics issues etc etc?

If your hard drive is big enough, you would be better off trying dual-booting 'til you get your graphics card problem sorted out. If you can spare about 8 or 10 GB, try it.

I think that with 1GHz processor and 512 MB RAM most distros would run.
About hardware issues, I think that older hardware is better supported by Linux, in general, than newer models. |
More comparison, I used to run Gentoo (and still do) on a 256mb ram and 1.7GHz machine. So believe me, you can run anything on 1GHz processor and 512 MB RAM, until you start using combiz etc.
You can try Mandriva... it is also a good distro that I used to run (then Mandrake). Actually, if you are able to solve graphic card problem, you can test e17! Oh, you should test it anyway :D |
