Linux for dual processors

Hey.

I got this computer and i was planning on installing linux on it.

It has 2 Intel pentium 2 450mhz processors and 512Mb ECC sdram.
2*9Gt SCSI hd.

Im looking for some distribution that supports 2 processors (debian based maybe?)

Thanks for help

As far as I know, it doesn't has to do anything with the Distribution. You just need a Kernel version that supports 2 processors, and I'm sure you won't get any Linux Kernel nowadays that doesn't. By the way, my processor is interpreted as 2 processors by the Kernel cause of Hyper-Threading, and it works well with every distribution I've tested so far (Mandriva and Gentoo).

But don't rely on that...

install pretty much any distro, update the kernel if both processors are not seen. i used both ubuntu and fedora core 4 on my dual opteron, and both distros saw both processors after updating to the smp kernel.

Every distribution will work with a dual processor box. With some you have to recompile the kernel to enable SMP but you want to recompile the kernel in many cases anyhow so no harm, no foul.
