Linux for AMD Athlon 750 Mhz Processor

Do i need a special release or distribution to run linux with the above mentioned processor.
Can anyone tell me if the latter is a 64bit processor. Are the informations provided by the AMD 64 Homepage applicable to the AMD Athlon 750Mhz processor?

No. I run a Duron 750 (a slower athlon). Both are not 64-bit. Any x86 Linux distro should work (though you'll have to worry about speed). I doubt the stuff on the AMD64 page have anything to do with your Athlon. What were you worried about in particular?

Linux for AMD Athlon 750 Mhz Processor

I have just seen that Suse has released a Linux for the Athlon64 so i want to if there is a special Linux for the Athlon32.
I am thinking about doing the right move, install Linux on my 3year old computer or buy a G4 Mac with yellow dog Linux preinstalled.

Athlon is different from Athlon64. The old athlons (athlon, athlonxp...) will run almost any distro fine. if you want something with everything optimized for Athlon, look into Gentoo Linux.

I second gentoo if you want an athlon based distro...but otherwise...i suggest slackware

How easy is Gentoo to work with?
I have a laptop with an AthlonXP-M, would
that work more smoothly?

gentoo is a wonderful thing to watch, especially if you are a coder, but i wouldn't recommend it for a first timer unless you are really comfortable with the command line, and following instructions in a README. Get knoppix or mandrake. you will not be as likely to get frustrated.
