Question Linux Firewall Vs Hardware UTM Appliance

Dear Friends,

Could you please tell me which firewall is best suited for my workplace, as there is around 90 nodes and 3 Site to Site VPNs connection, as our one firewall got old and need to be replaced.
Should I configure linux as a powerfull firewall or purchase a Hardware Firewall....

And please suggest which firewall should be and what configuration should be in both firewalls(Linux and Hardware).

Please this would be a valuable suggestion.

Please reply

Thank You

You have to pick. In most cases that I know of a proper hardware device tends to beat a sofware based device under high loads and rates of speed. Without you posting any specs on speed we can't decide.

Firewalls also need to be updated either software or hardware. Both need to have high enough restrictions to protect your data. Consider a layer 7+ for better application protection.

All of them need to be configured.

As we have not much more speed on network as Internet line has 4 mbps and around 60 hosts over the network and there is a oracle server works on the network and 2 VPN connections. As I want to Implement there Linux but i don't know which configuration of system i should use.
and how it would be differ from cost with UTM Appliance.
Please suggest..
Thank You
