Linux File System & Windows

Can anyone help me as this becoming a major problem? I am running Redhat Version 8 and want to keep it updated via the Redhat Website. I have a dual boot system with W2k - unfortunately this is my only way of connecting to the internet otherwise I wouldn't bother with MS at all. My problem is my ISP is AOL. I do not want to change it to another ISP before anyone suggests I do so as in the coming months I plan to switch to Broadband anyway, so it wouldn't be worth it.

Someone on another forum suggested I install Pengaol - this I have done but it will not configure my modem card, I keep getting a error when trying to connect - unable to load driver.

My question is
a) can someone help me with the above problem re Pengaol?
b) if not, is it possible to use wine to connect to my windows partition and use my AOL connection this way?
c) or finally, is it possible to run a windows version of something like wine to find my linux partition and run the Redhat update to update the linux system that way?

I do know a little about Linux but am still pretty new so I apologise if these suggestions sound a little crazy. If any are possible can you give explanations as detailed as possible.

Thanks

The setup tool for the modem won't care who you connect with.
From " Start | System Settings | Network " select " Interfaces | Add " & choose " Modem Connection ".

Follow the dialogues until it tests the modem and makes it dial a number.
This means your modem can be found.

Pengaol can then use this interface " ppp0 " to connect with.

Additionally, make sure that your modem is Linux compatible. If it's a "winmodem" you might run into some issues with it. Go to the RedHat Hardware Compatibility List to make sure that your modem will work and that it is not a "winmodem".

all you need it ntfs driver loaded in your RH and then download updates with your W2k and boot into RH, mount w2k partition and install updates
