linux distro in CF 32mb with RDP client


Hi!

I've a question Do You know some linux distro with fit into 32 MB Compact flash IDE memory (only for boot like from live cd)?
I need only RDP client on 4 seasion simultaneously . My terminal has 128 mb RAM.

Damn Small Linux comes to mind but it's for 50Mb mini CD's. You could try to strip it down for it to fit into 32Mb.

Or if you mean that you could boot from CD and store settings to the 32M CF then you could try SLAX or Knoppix.

Thanks for reply. I don't have CDrom on terminal and no floppy, PXE maybe not works betwwen networks, so I've got only CF 32MB IDE.

How I can strip DSL ? I tried to do and I remove on example abiword and another apps and I used re mastering CD option. DSL made a new *.iso but with almost the same size. Could You help How I should to do this ?

Other option is to install OpenBSD with Flashdist. I PXEBOOT mine Soekris but Flashdist would have been my second option.

I haven't had any experience running Linux on embedded machines.

OK but I see this distro without any X WIndows.
It is possible add on example fluxbox and rdp client and fit in 32 MB CF IDE memory ?

There are some instuctions for OpenBSD but it requires a lot of manual stripping of files from packages. Wouldn't recommend it.

Best bet would be to download Damn Small Linux and try to strip every package you don't need from it.

Or you could just get a bigger CF card as they are quite cheap.
