linux distribution with min system requirement

I have an old compaq laptop (amd k6 266mhz, 164 mb ram, 4gb HD) lying around that i would like to install linux on. here are some of the criteria i am looking for:
1. need GUI
2. support a GIGAFAST wifi USB adapter (model WF748-cui)
3. red hat, fedora or any clone of them would be nice.

i am not planning to save any data on the machine. mostly will use it for testing various settings, server config & ssh.

any help will be appreciated.

thanks

Damn Small Linux or Puppy would probably be the best choice for a system that old. You'll get GUIs but they wont' be Gnome or KDE. Neither of those will work on a system that old. You could also try something like Slax and use the Fluxbox desktop.

I'm not sure about your wireless, but they've got the rest covered.
