linux container host os and container os question
Hi
I am playing around with LXC to famalirize myself with containers. I have the following question: it is my understanding with docker your host OS and container OS have to be the same. But I am looking at LXC it has options to create many different containers that have different OSes like ubuntu/centos/opensuse etc while the host OS is, for example, ubuntu. Why is that? Thanks |
Both, Docker and LXC, allow you to run any Linux distribution in their containers, regardless which host distribution you use.
