Smile Linux Choice

I am new to Linux but i would like to learn it and become very good at it. What i want to know is if i install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server Advanced will i have all the features of Red Hat Desktop and can i work in that version of Linux like if it was Linux Desktop.

I am going to start a course which will make me a Power User of Linux so can i install the Server Edition and have it run like the Desktop version with all the features.

Thank you for your response.

RHEL products are commercially supported by Redhat. You should go there first.

You'll note that the product is a server. There is a desktop edition of RHEL as well. While it is possible to install all the desktop essentials to the server, it is recommended that you install the desktop version if you have the option.

If you do not want to pay for the commercial support RH offers, you should consider a free distribution. If you like Redhat's style, try CentOS instead. Though you may prefer fedora.

"The Power User's Guide to..." ... these courses set my teeth on edge.
