linux cd.org and default keyring
Happy New Year!
I have two dumb problems. 1. I bought a disk from linuxcd.org that came cracked in half. I tried to email them about it but all 4 email addresses they post came back undeliverable. Does anyone know any more about this or have tried contacting them? 2. I just hooked up a new router and after I set the passphrase for the wireless, I got a pop-up box that "nm-applet wants access to default keyring" and requested a password, which I didn't know where or what to look for. So I clicked deny. I didn't change anything else and my connection speed went to poo-poo instantly. I'm sure one of you fine members know exactly what I did wrong? Thank You all for being here |
only ever had this come up when my password to login, and my keyring password were different from each other. When they were the same, though, I only got prompted once for my password by the keyring, but that was to set it.
Try setting both passwords to be the same. Ok, just got this with a search, if I can set the password for the keyring the same as the wireless security passphrase, it will resolve the problem? How do I set the keyring password? |
I am satisfied on the keyring issue. Since Ubuntu doesn't have a separate root account naturally, and I had forgotten that I had set one up like 2 years ago on this box, I put in that password and it's all good.
I still have a smashed disk from linuxcd.org though, anyone else been thru that? |
