Linux Books
I thought this would be a good topic for most newbies to see. A great way to learn is to read a quality book. Then, that very same book will continue to serve you as a reference later on down the road. So which books would you guys say cover the most material with Linux?
I've been thinking of these two since I use the Red Hat distro. Learning Red Hat Red Hat Bible |
I like the O'Reily Running Linux and Linux in a Nutshell.
I also recommend the O'Reily Programming Perl for Perl of course. For Apache I would recommend Apache Web Server Administration: Craig Hunt Series... but I have scanned thru the Bible type books and recommend them to newbies. |
I would highly recommend "Running Linux" from O'Reilly...
Depending upon your interest, you can branch from there... -CJ (Patiently awaiting a release of "The Linux CD Bookshelf" from O'Reilly) |

I have read lots of tYY's explanations regarding installing tar files and stuff like that. I like how he explains things and I think he should write a book, something like Linux for Newbies or something. I'd buy it.

The Bible books always start from INSANELY easy to expert tip near the end, thats the way i like my books so i dont get lost after the first couple pages. So if you already know the basics, you can skip a few chapters.
