Unhappy linux backed up then transfered only boots from floppy

I have 2 Dell 6450 PCs (A & B) with different scsi raid controllers. I installed RH9 on each. Installation A has quite a bit different software to B. I backed up both installations using Acronis TI and also created boot floppies (ATI does sector by sector backups).

When I restore A to A and B to B they both boot ok from their HDs.
I would like to be able to restore A to B so that I can use B as a backup for A.
After restoring A to B I can boot B but only using the original B boot floppy.

However, with trying to boot A from the HD only I get a kernel panic just after the line that starts 'Creating block devices': -
VFS Cannot open root device "LABEL=/" or 00:00
Please append a correct "root=" boot option

I have tried installing lilio (by typing it at the terminal prompt) but that still gives the error message.

I searched through the forums but was unable to find the answer to my problem. There were lots of topics but none that seemed to answer my problem.

I would be very gratful for any help as I know a little bit about linux but I am still a

Thanks,
Stephen

Sounds like you need to edit Lilo to reflect the changed location of root (on B). If it looks in the wrong place it will give you the error you mentioned.
