Linux + 8500 owners?

I was wondering if any of you linux owners have a 8500 running ? Ive been considering getting one of these cards but it has to be able to run with linux. After searching ATI's site and a few other linux sites it seems there isnt much support for this card yet even though I see radeon options in the kernel config file. So I was hoping to get some positive feedback from people who have this card working with linux. If you have it working what drivers are used etc.. The only input Ive heard so far is you cant start X cause you get a no screens found error or something like that.
