Linux 7.3 strange USB eror at install
 
I am trying to install a Linux RH 7.3 from CD.

I keep getting the following message:

Usb-uhci.c: Host controller halted, trying to restart

scrolling down the screen - can anyone please help?....

Do you have usb enabled in the bios?

there is not way to change usb settings in the BIOS

What chipset are you using? , it might be trying to load a wrong module, you might need ohci.c

After fighting with it for a couple of days I managed to get it working by providing the following command line at boot
linux ext2 mem=256M

and IT WORKED.
