an in-core index node can simultaneously be on a hash queue and on the free list??

this is NOT how you use a forum.

- use intelligent thread titles
- write provper english sentences
- do not ask homework questions
- say please / thank you

Duplicate post here.

Simple answer for your question is yes, inode no. remains unique throughout the file system. To check:
Code:

~$ ls -lai

As acid_kewpie pointed out, this isn't the way to use a forum, you need to use clear and concise English. (You can be excused if you're not a fluent English speaker or not a native English speaker). Say thanks at the least, and give frequent updates about your problem or question. I try to get on the forum at least twice a day to check on answers to the questions I've asked and to check on answers that I've given. When the problem is solved, you need to be sure to give the solution that worked and mark the thread as solved.
