Limewire

I'm trying to install LimeWire on this comp and I keep getting this error:

[chastin@cable-bsr1-0520 LimeWire]$ sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin
Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.

I've downloaded the java thing from the limewire site, and it said it installed but I dunno.

Also my sound doesn't work

I'm on Mandrake 10.1

I got to the part about krite, but theres a few things.

1.) My bashprofile was blank.
2.) After i edited it, saved it, logged in/out and typed echo $PATH those 2 directories were not there.

The file is supposed to be .bash_profile and not .bashprofile. Sorry I made an error there which I have rectified. Cheers

Did you install the exact same version of java? If so start a console then do
$kwrite .bash_profile
when the file is open add the two lines below to the bottom of the file and save it

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jdk1.5.0/bin
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jdk1.5.0/jre/bin

If you have installed a differnet version of java, the paths won't be the same so you'll have to adjust the lines above to point to the right paths. logout and login again, start a console then do

$echo $PATH

You will see lots of paths listed and hopefully the two you added should be there. Another way to test if java is installed is to run
$java -v
If a version is printed then java is installed properly and you can go ahead with installing LimeWire.
