I need some help. I brought a Linspire 5.0 system (2.4GB proc, 40GB HDD, 256MB DDR RAM, I brought from TigerDirect.com. I can’t sign on to the computer. It doesn't recognize my administrator password. I went into BIOS to see if I could access it from there, but I can’t.
I looked at the FAQ at Linspire.com, and it said they have a problem with signing on with Wintergreen systems. Can anybody help me to retrieve my password or recreate a new one, so I can access my computer again? I'm new to Linspire, so please give simple explanations and suggestions I can try.
If linspire uses grub to boot, you can edit the kernel line and get it to boot into runlevel 1.Then at command prompt type passwd and change it to whatever you want then reboot.
