Linpus problem

Hi

I've just bought a Laptop ACER Aspirer 5315 with Linpus on it. I don't know from what reason doesn't have graphic interface. From this reason I've decide to put a Windows on it, but it doesn't see my boot cd(a original licensed boot cd). I've tried to instal from a memory stick using USB port but it freeze in startup. I'm really new in Linux and I don't know how to find the cd drive or the Memory stick to start manually the setup.

Can you help???

Make sure the BIOS is set to boot from CD-Rom first. You will need to "fix the MBR" Google that - it depends which version of Windows you have.

Already set the CDROM as primary boot device. Problem is that it doesn't boot from it and I can't make it to do it. Also I can't make it boot manually from the files from boot cd.

tried the startx nothing happened

Did you try to press F12 at startup and select CD-ROM manually. Also , I have expirienced that crash from the USB thumb , it must be a BIOS incompartibility. Try disabling "fast boot" from BIOS and then enabling after you finished installing. Last , did you try the rescue CD your aspire came with?
