Linksys WUSB11 - FC2

I installed Fedora Core 2 yesterday. My friend warned me before wiping my HD that I wouldn't be able to get internet and I didn't listen...

How do I get my Linksys WUSB11 to work on FC2? I don't even know where to start.
Do I need to install my USB card? HELP!!!

Try: http://atmelwlandriver.sourceforge.net/

The above link works for WUSB11 v2.6 (slide the wall mount bracket off the back to check your version number). If you have WUSB11 v2.8 take a look at:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...p?product=1791

hope this helps...

What about version 3.0?

Do you speak Czechoslovakian?

If so you may be able to understand how to install the drivers here:
http://www.levi.cz/soubor.php?produkt=WUSB11&typ=o

Also, I found this nugget from http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/RoofTopAdHoc:

The WUSB11 v3.0 seems to be prism based, sortof works under linux with wlan drivers after adding device id's to src/prism2/driver/prism2sta.c, but my laptop kernel panics if I transmit/receive any large amount of data. Still works great with kismet(got 2 of them for $20 each, running parallel). Seems to have a MMCX connector inside, but need to get a pigtail first to be sure.
Here's the link for the wlan drivers that had to be hacked referred to above:

Actually, I just downloaded the latest source code from http://www.linux-wlan.org/ and grepped for WUSB11 and found that someone has already added support in:

Quote:

prism2_usb.c:
{PRISM_USB_DEVICE(0x1915, 0x2236, "Linksys WUSB11v3.0 11Mbps WLAN USB Adapter")},

So, get the latest version (linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1pre22) from ftp://ftp.linux-wlan.org/pub/linux-wlan-ng/ and follow the instructions in the README file.

Good luck...
