Linksys WMP54GS on Optiplex GX1 Debian latest stable

OK I got the wireless card (linksys WMP54GS). I have the latest version of Debian. What the heck do I do now to get the OS to recognize the newly installed card. I am sure that there is something simple to do. Please if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Thanks!

first you need to know what version you have,,from looking at linkysy site there are 2 versions.if you do lspci at terminal you will be able to see the chipset it uses..then with a little googling find out if there is a linux driver for it .If not you will have to use ndiswrapper and use the windows driver with it..If the debian kernel had drivers for it it would be recognized and ready to use..could be it needs firmware .since theres only 2 versions..its a 50%/50% chance its a ralink chipset..if it is..heres something to help..
