Unhappy Link to application does not work

I have wine installed and can call some programmes from my win partition.

When I type these command at the linux command or the run command it works:

Image Analyser:
wine /mnt/win/Pro*/Ima*/Ana*

wine /mnt/win/Program*/WinZip/winzip32.exe

But when I make a Link to Application on the desktop and put the same command line this does not work.

Any idea?

try using a full path without '*'

if you want the interpreter to bypass the ' ' (space) you shoul add / before it
wine /mnt/win/Program\ Files/WinZip/winzip32.exe

but this still might not work for you, because the link from desktop isn't passed to interpreter

try putting the whole command into quotes

with the link to application, you just need to work out what's best to put into the "execute >command" box.

I tend to use the closest I can to the app name i.e. for opera browser, just use opera, but for realplayer, you have to use "realplay" (note that there's no "er" on the end).

So, you could try just wine and see if that works.

just a thought.
