Link and execute a script

Hi,

I have created a symbolic link through another user. When I try to execute a script, I get the error
Code:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.1.2/../../../../x86_64-
suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot open output file a.out: Permission denied
Is there a way to run the script through the link?

Thanks!

Does the user you're trying to run it as have execute permissions on every directory back to /? Usually that error is a permissions issue. Try chmoding the file to 755 and executing it.

It looks like you're trying to run the script in a directory where you don't have write permissions, hence it cannot create a.out. cd to a directory where you do have write permission and try again
