limit number of concurrent network connections

Hi I have a RedHat AS4 on HP DL350 server.
Is there a limit on number of concurrent network connection (any form of network connections)?
How can I control the number of concurrent network connections (any form of network connections) on to this machine?
Is there a kernel parameter to do this?

Thanks

Best regards
