LILO stalls after online update
I have a dual boot computer with win2000 and SUSE 8.2. The system boots using the windows boot loader, using bootsect.lnx.
I was performing an online update to SUSE 8.2 and told the system to only update installed components. After the update was complete it tried to write to the bootloader, LILO, but gave an error about being unable to update it. The update finished and gave a dialog to reboot the system. I did so only to find that windows boot loader had now been replaced by LILO. This would be alright except for the fact that LILO stalls while loading, only displaying "LILO ...................." and doing nothing.
Is there any way I can fix LILO and return to my original window boot loader? Is this a problem with lilo or a problem with some component I updated?
I have managed to boot into windows using a win2000 boot disk but I need access to linux.
Any help, fast, would be very much appreciated.
