Lilo Help Needed Please

Hi, I made a complete install of Slackware 10.2 (cd's) everything went fine except I got 'Lilo install error # 1". I cannot boot. I could not make a boot disk during the install process because the floppy drive and/or floppy disks were no good. Is it possible to use the installation disks to get Lilo working? If so what are the commands? I spent the entire day reading threads and googling but no luck below is my partition table

/dev/sdo1 * 83 Linux
/dev/sdo2 82 Linux Swap
/dev/sdo3 83 Linux
/dev/sdo4 83 Linux

thank you

I'm pretty positive you can re-install lilo without reinstalling everything over again. Not 100% on that but hopefully someone else will be able to answer that.

Firstly, did you choose to install Lilo to the MBR during the install?

Secondly, yes you can use the install CD to boot your system. The instructions are right on the screen when you boot from the CD.

To reinstall Lilo once the system comes up, log in as root, verify that your /etc/lilo.conf file is correct, then run the command lilo.

This is the exact problem I am having right now. I need to reinstall Lilo. I dont (think)I need to check any thing, as I know what I'm doing. I was wondering if there was a way I could install this Lilo thing with my Slackware 10.2 installation cd.

When you install Slackware, choose "expert" option in LILO setup.

I'm pretty much going to have to reinstall the Lilo package from the Slackware boot cd. Do you know any way I can get into the cdrom's root directory and manually install LILO and only LILO?

I'm going to definitely have to do it this way because when I try to reconfigure Slack, the Lilo options aren't even there any more.

Just type (as root):
Code:
liloconfig

I actually messed up my partitions and I also uninstalled the Lilo package (dont ask). What I had to eventually do was reinstall the Lilo package only using slackware expert mode.
