lilo.conf


I couldn't , as root, view my lilo.conf file yesterday, it said unauthorized. WHat could that be?

There can be various reasons. Have you installed some program like tripwire? It can be configured to disallow even root to get to certain areas of Linux.

Root normally doesn't suffer permission restrictions but run a 'ls -l /etc/lilo.conf' and see if it has read permissions? It shouldn't matter, but...ya never know
