LILO Boot Floppy - RH9

I am trying to create a LILO boot floppy using RH9, and am having a few problems. I followed the directions at tldp.org/HOWTO/LILO-8.html, but when I get to a command that lilo -C /etc/lilo.flop - I get a 'cant find the file' error.

Here's what I am trying to do - maybe someone could make a suggestion:

I am sharing a lab-computer with many users. On the internal drive (C:), there is WinXP loaded. I have a removable drive (D:) that will have RH7.2 or RH9 on it, and need to boot to it.

The internal drive is used by other students to practice installing OS's (Win98/XP/..etc) and is not stable, so my only choice is to have a boot floppy with GRUB or LILO to point to the removable.

Does anyone have a good set of directions on how to make a LILO or GRUB boot floppy that will point to my /HDB ?

Thanks in advance!

From a terminal as root user in Red Hat 9 you can make a boot floppy with

mkbootdisk 2.4.20-8

Thanks for the reply.... but what would I need to do to this floppy (or any conf file) to make it boot from the removable hard disk (which is drive D)?
