Light fastest linux request!

Dear all,
I am new to linux world, and I hope to help me in 3 things to start.
1- What is the light weight and fastest distribution which can run with the lowest resources consumption?
2- Does linux supports adobe flash player latest version?
3- Can I run DirectX based games on linux?
Thx in advanced.

You need to be more elaborate about your requirements. What are your system specifications? Linux is about personal choices and everyone has personal needs. My desktop is 2gig with 1.8gig pro. This is old and for most this desktop is with low resources. But I run full Ubuntu desktop edition with Compiz. What do you need to run? You can try any desktop with small or minimalist environment like LXDE or XFCE or similar. But that would depend on the resources you have. Games developed for windows would not run natively on Linux. You would need to run them on wine and there is no guarantee of support. Not all the games are supported. See the home page and see if the game you want to run is supported.

And yes, you can run flash player on Linux.

Most of the distributions will run wine and flash. If there are no binaries available for your distro, you can compile from source. But you still have not said what are the specs of your machine.

All of the different distributions use basically the same kernel. The difference between them is how they add on different components to the system. Some use more resources than others.

Yes.
Actually it's the other way around. Adobe has a version of Flash Player that runs on Linux.

Not directly (no pun intended). There are application layer software products such as Cedega that adds DirectX capability.

Note that Linux distributions that are designed to run on older computers tend to be difficult to reconfigure. Adding capabilities such as DirectX requires more hardware resources in order to run well.

I don't know about running ONLY wine and flash.

I went to http://distrowatch.com and put in your requirements for "old computer" and "Power PC" architecture. There was only one listing. Here is the web page.

Unfortunately this web site is not working right now.
